AfriLabs Annual Gathering 2018

The third edition of The AfriLabs Annual Meeting was held from October 11 to 13, 2018 at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania under the theme “Innovation in the Age of Data”.

The Annual Meeting welcomed more than 500 participants, including members of the AfriLabs network from across the African continent, groups of investors such as the African Community of Venture Capitalists (VC4A) and the African Business Angels Network (ABAN) , representatives of the Tanzanian government, development agencies such as the African Development Bank (AfDB), corporate organizations and partners of AfriLabs such as IBM, Facebook, Liquid Intelligent Technologies, Esri, GSMA, Google, the grant-granting foundation Grants and Outreach for South Africa (OSISA), Growth Wheel, among others.

As a prelude to La Rencontre Annuelle, AfriLabs hosted a workshop on October 10. The workshop, sponsored by the Grantmaking and Outreach Foundation for South Africa (OSISA), brought together key players in the ecosystem to co-create AfriLabs Connect – which aims to proactively facilitate a closer collaboration between organizations that support entrepreneurs and innovators across the continent.
