The AfriLabs Annual Meeting took place in Africa for the first time since the creation of AfriLabs in 2011 at Alliance Française in Accra, Ghana. This Assembly was held from 24 to 27 October 2016 and addressed the theme “ Making the Technology Ecosystem Count ”. Its main sponsor was Making All Voices Count (MAVC).

Microsoft 4Afrika sponsored the Boot Camp for Tech Member Hubs which took place prior to the meeting on October 24, 2016. This was iSpace Foundation Hub, Ghana.

Were present: members of the AfriLabs hub, angel investors/venture capitalists, leaders of development organizations, startups, entrepreneurs and universities. The following countries were represented at La Rencontre from Africa (Nigeria, Ghana, Cameroon, Tanzania, Morocco, Egypt, Kenya, etc.), Europe (Netherlands), Asia (Philippines), United States of America (Washington DC).
