Moetaz Helmy is the Chairperson of AfriLabs, the largest network of Innovation and Technology hubs consisting of 350 member hubs across 52 African countries. AfriLabs member hubs and its community create more than $1 Billion in Wealth for the African Tech Economy yearly through hundreds of Digital Innovation Hubs, thousands of incubated Entrepreneurs, and associated Tech Startups and Investors. Moetaz is also the lead implementing partner for the Diaspora Meta Lab at Meta/Facebook which aims to support African

Diaspora in Europe using XR/VR in the Metaverse.

He was appointed Board Member at Digital Africa. A French-African project initiated by the French president Macron pledging €130 M to support African Startups. Also, He is co founding partner at Hubiquitous creating IOT Infrastructure in Africa funded by the European Commission. In 2020, Moetaz was appointed Executive Director at Rollo Africa at the African Union supporting 120 African Businesses post Covid-19.

Moetaz founded the Enactus team at the French University in Egypt (UFE). Within his three years as president. The team made history by winning the Enactus National cup 3 times in a row and Enactus world cup twice consecutively in 2009 in Berlin and 2010 in Los Angeles. He was appointed Judge for the Enactus world Cup in Toronto in 2016. He was awarded best Entrepreneur by Coca-Cola Egypt in 2018.

Moetaz is a co-founder and co-investor in different ESOs: District in 2011 (Innovation Hub), kmt house in 2017 (Urban Technology), Nwt Art house in 2019 (Art), and Rdna in 2021 (Agribusiness).

He is also a consultant, mentor, and guest speaker at different events and programs: – Multilateral: The African union, European Commission, Internews Europe. – Forums: World Youth Forum, World Business Angel Investments Forum, Africa Europe D4D hub Multi-stakeholder Forum, German-Africa Entrepreneurship summit, Viva Tech in Paris, African Private Sector Forum, European Developments Days in Brussels – University Programs: Enactus Egypt, Enactus Tunisia, Nile University, 6th of October University, New Giza University, French University in Egypt, Nantes University in France, De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde in Philippines, GIC IX, and Milken-Motsepe Prize.
